Aston Martin 2012 V12 Vantage

Aston Martin 2012 V12 Vantage Interior
aston martin 2012 v12 vantage interior
V12 Vantage might be considered Aston Martin’s tackle the classic Detroit muscle automotive formula. The automotive was created when Aston Martin stuffed its largest, most powerful V12 motor into the engine compartment of its smallest sports car, the V8 Vantage. The result's a straight-line monster however also, in contrast to many muscle cars of yore, a nimble machine within the corners.

The V12 Vantage has a 6.0 liter motor taken from the DBS that cranks out 510 horsepower and 420 lb-ft. of torque and will sprint from 0 to 62 mph in 4.2 seconds. The engine options a ‘by-pass’ engine air intake port that unveil at 5500 rpm, a revised induction system and re-profiled air inlet ports that further improve airflow into the combustion chamber to improve performance.
Although the V12 engine weighs 220 pounds a lot of than the quality automobile’s engine, the vehicle’s overall weight solely increases one hundred ten pounds. This is possible thanks to widespread use of lightweight materials, as well as carbon ceramic brakes, forged aluminum wheels, lightweight rear quarter panels, and optional lightweight seats. Weight distribution is a close to-excellent 51:49.

The V12 Vantage’s Carbon Ceramic Matrix discs are 398 mm in diameter at the front and 360 mm at the rear whereas the brake calipers feature six pistons at the front, four at the rear and have a bigger brake pad space compared to the V8 Vantage. Air ducts positioned inside the lower front grille feed air directly onto the discs to assist cooling.

Exclusively accessible with a six-speed manual transmission, the car’s gearbox uses a transaxle configuration to assist weight distribution. The V12 Vantage’s final drive ratio has also been changed from 3.909:1 to 3.70 1:1. This permits the Vantage to take full profit of the high torque levels delivered by the engine to provide each flexibility at lower engine speeds also a high top speed of a hundred ninety mph.

While the external dimensions of the V8 Vantage remain unchanged, the inner frontal structure has been extensively revised forward of the suspension towers to deal with the larger engine, brake cooling system and twin air intake system.

Unique to the V12 Vantage is the ability to toggle button between 2 powertrain modes. The default ‘traditional’ provides a more progressive, throttle response, suited to additional everyday situations. Selecting ‘Sport’ mode delivers a sharper throttle response together with a sportier exhaust note. In default operation, the Dynamic Stability Control is automatically switched on. Depressing the DSC button for 2 seconds selects ‘track mode’ that raises the manner and threshold at that the system intervenes permitting the motive force to explore the bounds of the automotive’s considerable handling capabilities. Depressing the button for four seconds will switch off DSC completely.

The V12 Vantage proved itself in 2009 by taking home a class victory at the 24 Hours of Nurburgring, where it had been driven by a cluster comprised of the company’s engineers – as well as its CEO, Dr. Ulrich Bez.

Major choices on the V12 Vantage are limited to 700-watt stereo with Dolby Surround Sound; the automobile has the wide range of commonplace, coddling luxury features one would expect at the price point.

Aston Martin 2012 Virage

Aston Martin 2012 Virage
aston martin 2012 virage
Introduction

The 2012 Aston Martin Virage quite literally fills in the gap between the simply splendid DB9 and therefore the exotic DBS in terms of aggressive styling, engine output, suspension calibration and price. From the layman's perspective, there is not a whole ton of differentiation here, and indeed it's going to be tough for even Aston Martin aficionados to inform the Virage apart from its siblings at a glance. But thought-about solely on advantage, there is a heap right regarding the Virage.

At its core, the Virage is built from the foremost current, most evolved version of the "VH" platform architecture that began within the DB9 and has since expanded to include each Aston Martin presently sold. Introduced at the close of last year, the V12-powered Virage promotes Aston Martin's style language evolution in addition. The sparingly sculpted body is unmistakably Aston Martin, however with a sharper, more modern flair that was meant to take the company into the subsequent generation.

As is that the case with two-thirds of current Aston Martins, the driving force for the Virage could be a hand-engineered aluminum half dozen.0-liter V12. Twenty horsepower on either aspect of the Virage's output can land you in either DB9 territory or the DBS's neighborhood. However, not like the DB9, the Virage comes with commonplace racing-impressed carbon-ceramic disc brakes and 20-inch wheels -- simply just like the a lot of dedicated DBS.

However there's a lot of to an Aston Martin than hardware, or perhaps software. The experience of driving an Aston Martin is meant to be pleasurable on many levels: audibly, visually and even "olfactorily." The Virage interior is practically wallpapered in aromatic, premium leather, plus wood, alloy and piano black trim. If you do not take care of the colours Aston Martin offers, you'll be able to pay extra to have any color matched inside or out. Modern conveniences like smartphone connectivity, a premium audio system and navigation are normal, but you won't find a reverse camera -- best use caution of that shapely rear finish.

Thus is that the roughly $20,000 leap from the DB9 to the Virage worthwhile? Some makers charge nearly that much for a carbon-ceramic brake system upgrade alone, plus you get the nifty "road-reading" suspension and twenty a lot of horses under the Virage's hood. Seems like a deal to us, and perhaps even more of a cut price than the following $70,000 jump up to the DBS.

There are a number of other exotic sports or grand touring cars just like the Audi R8, Bentley Continental GT, Jaguar XKR, Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG or Porsche 91one Turbo. Each offers a unique motoring experience with wildly varying worth tags. The 2012 Aston Martin Virage might not be the final driver's car, but what it lacks in maximum thrills, it makes up for with gorgeous smart appearance, everyday drivability and loads of character.
Body Designs, Trim Levels, and Choices

The 2012 Aston Martin Virage is out there in coupe and convertible body designs, the latter of that is known as Volante. A combine of vestigial "plus-two" seats are normal, however the coupe allows you to exchange them with a additional useful, weight-saving parcel shelf at no added value.

Standard equipment includes twenty-in. wheels, high-performance tires, carbon-ceramic brakes, an adaptive suspension, bi-xenon headlights, LED running lights, front and back parking sensors, power-folding mirrors, a battery disconnect button (for extended parking), automatic climate management, cruise control, heated eight-manner power front seats with power lumbar adjustment and memory functions, a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, Bluetooth, a navigation system and a premium sound system with a CD player, satellite radio, auxiliary audio jacks and an iPod/USB interface. The Volante also gets a fully powered soft top and a wind deflector.

Besides an offered Bang & Olufsen BeoSound audio system, the Virage's options are limited to style and customization items including 5 distinct wheel designs. There's a rather massive selection of colors from which to decide on (including Volante roof colours), and you can request any paint code Aston Martin or any other manufacturer has ever used. There also are plentiful interior trim varieties and leather hues obtainable.
Powertrains and Performance

The rear-wheel-drive 2012 Aston Martin Virage is powered by a 6.0-liter V12 that produces 490 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque. A traditional six-speed automatic transmission with shift paddles is standard. Aston Martin estimates the Virage will go from 0 to 60 mph in 4.6 seconds and claims a top speed of 186 mph. The heavier Volante convertible version should be a few ticks slower.
Safety

The 2012 Aston Martin Virage comes with antilock carbon-ceramic brakes, traction and stability control, front aspect airbags (that shield head and torso) and parking sensors. The Volante additionally comes commonplace with automatically deploying rollover bars.
Interior Design and Special Features

It's tough to search out a surface within the Virage that is not covered in soft leather, whereas wood, piano black, alloy trim and even sapphire crystal fill in the blanks. As a testament to the recent-world craftsmanship Aston Martin maintains to the current day, every Virage interior utilizes seven premium hides from Scandinavia and requires more than 70 man-hours to complete.

Easily deciphered buttons combine with a central screen to form a user-friendly interface, and therefore the novelty of the dash-mounted transmission selector (with individual "P, R, N, D, L" glass push-buttons) can never grow previous. The Virage was the first Aston to be endowed with the greatly improved Garmin-sourced navigation system and vi.5-inch high-definition screen, though admittedly, Aston Martin's electronics interface could be a very little behind the days.

The Virage conjointly maintains the ornate Aston Martin gauges and their strange oppositely rotating dials (the speedometer needle swings clockwise; the tachometer goes counterclockwise). The speedometer's small numbers additionally render it largely useless, though there's a digital speedometer in the trip pc as a backup.

The driver seat is marvelously comfy, with ample leg- and headroom for taller drivers. However since no human is seemingly to ever match within the backseat, you may furthermore choose the parcel shelf offered in the coupe instead. For larger things, the trunk is truly quite generous for an exotic sports car at 6.5 cubic feet for the coupe and 5.4 cubic feet for the Volante. As for the Volante, visibility isn't great with the prime raised and wind buffeting can be tiresome.
Driving Impressions

If you're cross-looking within the Aston Martin garage, get prepared to hear several of the same old descriptions. The 2012 Aston Martin Virage is surprisingly simple to drive, with decent outward visibility and a traditional automatic transmission that delivers smooth shifts while not the jerkiness associated with fancier automated manuals. Selecting the Sport setting noticeably increases throttle response and shift speed, and permits gears to be held manually all the way to redline without automatically upshifting.

The automobile is also quite comfortable, with supportive, heated seats and a compliant ride quality. The electrical-assist steering is precise, and the car's 50/50 weight balance assures neutral handling. As for the engine, it provides the same thrilling experience that you simply get from the DB9 and DBS, which is to say, abundant power in the middle of the wonderful song of a wailing V12.

Therefore how is the Virage completely different from other Aston Martin models? Well, it really comes right down to its styling, engine output and suspension calibration. Whereas the DB9 has an adjustable suspension, the Virage goes a step further with a suspension just like the prime-tier DBS that automatically adapts to road conditions with five programmed stiffness settings within two driver-selectable modes. The result's not solely a higher ride (that is nevertheless still quite firm) however additionally handling that a lot of adeptly deals with pavement imperfections that would usually knock the DB9 out of whack. As the newest model in the Aston Martin line, the Virage would possibly not attack corners with the identical ability because the additional purposeful DBS, however it's doubtless to be a a lot of livable car on daily-to-day basis.

Aston Martin 2012 Rapide

Aston Martin 2012 Rapide Engine
aston martin engine
The Aston Martin Rapide is a four-door ultra-luxury sedan that borrows styling elements and mechanical parts from the brand's elegant DB9 coupe. Though several of its rivals serve up additional area for the rear passengers, the Rapide will supply enough room for four adults to go together with its exotic appearance.

Like Aston's other models, the Rapide is made on the company's VH (Vertical/Horizontal) architecture -- the same that underpins the DB9. The Rapide conjointly shares its twelve-cylinder powerplant from the DBS, DB9 and Vantage models.
Engineered by hand, the six.zero-liter V12 engine produces 470 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 443 pound-feet of peak torque at 5,000 rpm. A specifically tuned six-speed Touchtronic 2 automatic transmission permits the driving force to change gears automatically or manually via the steering column-mounted magnesium paddles.

As one will see, the production version is very similar to the concept car, but does swap out quad-air intakes for upper and lower grilles. The rear of the automotive has sturdy family ties to other Aston Martin models, and sports 'smoked' rear taillights.

Continuing its series of firsts and oddities for the complete, the Rapide is the primary ever Aston Martin engineered outside of the United Kingdom, due to a partnership up with Magna Steyr. Given a robust interest within the Rapide, Aston Martin says it can build between 1,000 and a 2,000 units per year, up from an inspired estimate of 500 or less.

Thanks in half to the modest bump in power from the engine's previous applications, the four-door Rapide can sprint from 0-to-60 mph in below five seconds on its means to a top speed of one hundred eighty mph.

Luxurious, High-Tech Interior
Continuing the successful brand partnership between Bang & Olufsen and Aston Martin, the Rapide is fitted normal with the 1000 watt BeoSound Rapide - a bespoke sound system tailored specifically to the Rapide. It includes 15 speakers that are optimally located throughout the cabin to deliver the audiophile-level sound quality.

Passengers and the driving force alike can relish a full grain leather interior, accented with walnut trim, an iridium silver end for the outer center console, and a graphite inner center console finish. Screens encompass Organic Electroluminescent displays, along with LED map and ambient lighting. Commonplace options also embrace heated memory seats and Aston Martin's Adaptive Damping Sytem.

Options embody cooled front and rear seats, a DVD entertainment system complete with a vi-disc player and two LCD screens, together with a myriad of interior finishes, like: Eye Maple, Olive Ash Burl, Double Apex Alloy and matching wood door trim. Various different interior and exterior elements will be customized likewise, starting from wheels, to brake caliper finish to Magnum silver rear lamp infills.

Aston Martin 2012 DBS

Aston Martin 2012 DBS
aston martin 2012 dbs
Though heavily primarily based on the mechanically (and stylistically) similar DB9 and Virage models, the Aston Martin DBS distinguishes itself with a additional aggressive look, slightly better power and a greater specialise in handling. It's also this ride of choice of a sure British spy.

The DBS is the primary production Aston Martin to create extensive use of ultra-lightweight carbon-fiber body panels, which results in high levels of performance and management thanks to the combination of inherent lightweight weight, close to-excellent weight distribution, a strong and versatile V12 engine.
As with all current Aston Martins, the engine is hand-assembled at Aston Martin’s dedicated engine facility in Cologne, Germany. The classic vi.0-liter V12 features a number of power-increasing enhancements including a ‘by-pass’ engine air intake port that opens above 5500rpm to permit additional air into the engine, and re-profiled air inlet ports that further improve airflow into the combustion chamber.

Combined with a compression ratio of 10.9:one, the results of these enhancements is prodigious power and torque: the DBS delivers 510 horsepower at 6500 rpm. The 3.seventy one:one final-drive ratio ensures that the extra power is usable, enhancing in-gear acceleration in particular.

Introduced as an alternate to the quality six-speed manual gearbox, DBS customers can currently be afforded the option of the Touchtronic 2 six-speed automatic transmission. Derived from the same ZF transaxle unit that was developed for the DB9, the system has been substantially re-engineered to accommodate the ability and performance characteristics of the DBS.

Like the DB9 and its sibling DBR9 and DBRS9 race cars, the DBS uses Aston Martin’s category-leading all-alloy VH (Vertical Horizontal) design, a light-weight bonded aluminum structure that gives outstanding strength and rigidity.

Carbon-fiber panels are used for the boot enclosure, boot lid, door gap surrounds, front wings and bonnet, giving a saving of some 30kg over a lot of standard materials without any reduction in strength.

To take full advantage of its rigid platform, the DBS employs a new and sophisticated Adaptive Damping System (ADS) that uses 2 separate valves to line the dampers to 5 different positions, allowing instant adjustment of the automobile’s ride and handling characteristics. The ADS automatically alters the suspension settings to confirm the motive force has high levels of management in any respect times, with the ability to reply instantly to different driving conditions. The dampers can be 'softer,' with a corresponding improvement in ride quality, or 'firm,' providing improved body management for additional spirited driving.

The damper settings are determined by an electronic control unit which takes sensor readings from the automobile's systems, including throttle position, brake position, steering wheel rotation and vehicle speed.

The DBS's Adaptive Damping System ensures that stiffer dampers are out there for higher handling and management when the car is being driven enthusiastically, while not compromising ride comfort throughout traditional driving conditions.

A designated Track mode automatically sets all dampers to their firmest positions, creating it ideal for circuit driving. The DBS is fitted with Pirelli P-Zero tires that have been developed particularly for the automobile, along with new 20-in. lightweight alloy wheels.

The DBS also incorporates a revised Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) system, designed to help maintain most traction in challenging driving conditions.

The automotive's braking system marks the primary time Carbon Ceramic Matrix (CCM) brakes are used on a road-going Aston Martin. The end result is shorter stopping distances with glorious resistance to fade in even the most demanding driving conditions. CCM brakes are also some 12.5kg lighter than a conventional system, reducing the weight of the automotive overall and, in particular, the unsprung weight and rotational masses, further enhancing the performance of the suspension.

Aston Martin 2012 DB9

Aston Martin 2012 DB9
aston martin 2012 db9
First launched in 2004, the DB9 has become Aston Martin's most recognized automobile in addition to the premise for the automaker's DBS and Virage models. A four seat grand tourer, the DB9's charm lies in its well-proportioned styling, bespoke interior and sonorous twelve-cylinder motor.

Also obtainable in Volante (Aston-speak for convertible) kind, the DB9 options a half-dozen.zero-liter V12 engine producing 470 horsepower at half-dozen,00zero rpm, and a torque output of 443 lb-ft at five,00zero rpm. At the identical time, the car's six-speed automated manual with a laptop controlled clutch has been reprogrammed to allow it to shift faster. These changes combine to make the car three tenths of a second quicker in the zero to sixty mph sprint, whereas the six-speed manual cars are solely a tenth quicker because of the facility hike.
Plus the straight-line performance, handling of the most recent DB9 is improved due to Bilstein shocks, new suspension arms and bushings, and nineteen-inch wheels. These suspension upgrades resulted in a sportier ride, while the Volante's (convertible model) ride is created cushier.

The DB9's bumpers are invisible. The front range plate is half of the crash structure and laptop modeling has enabled Aston Martin to use invisible 'hard pressure zones' to address bumps.

The facet strakes - an Aston Martin DB signature - are created from metal. The door handles are flush with the body opening the distinctive 'swan wing' doors, which rise at a twelve-degree angle for improved access.

There aren't any visible gutters on the roof panel, and no visible drain channels at the front or rear windscreens. Nor are there any plastic 'dressing' plates.

The interior features an elegant center console, finished almost entirely in
die-solid zinc with an iridium end. What isn't finished in iridium is finished in an exceedingly combine of top of the range leather or one of 5 completely different hand-finished wood trims, starting from Walnut to Piano Black.
