The big news surrounding the 2012 Buick LaCrosse is that the addition of General Motors' eAssist technology – a replacement powertrain that will facilitate the big sedan achieve up to thirty seven miles per gallon on the highway. Buick can provide the eAssist four-cylinder as the standard engine in the 2012 LaCrosse, but The General's three.vi-liter V6 can be on the market as a no-value option, and GM has currently confirmed that the six-cylinder powerplant can get a lift in power versus the 2011 LaCrosse.

For 2012, the 3.six-liter direct-injected V6 can churn out 303 horsepower and 264 pound-feet of torque – an increase of 23 hp versus the 201one model. However, this added power can not end in any loss of overall potency, with GM stating that the V6 LaCrosse's seventeen/twenty seven town/highway mile-per-gallon ratings will stay intact.

The 2012 Buick LaCrosse will begin production this summer. For the full details on the V6's power increase, follow the jump for GM's official press blast.
